For those of you who are as happy in the water as on it, why not try the WSR Open Water Swim?
Following on from our successful first full year last year, we will again be holding a swim using the WSR course on the Saturday morning (10th August), before the Regatta itself.
Swimmers start near the Regatta finish line and swim up the course on the Bucks side, round a buoy by the bridge (the Skiff start), and back down the Berks side. The total length of the Standard course is 1km, and we also hold an Advanced swim which is 2 laps.
Open Water Swimming has become increasingly popular in recent years, both in isolation and as the first leg of a Triathlon. Following the heroics of the Brownlee brothers in the Tri and Keri-Anne Payne in the Marathon Swim at London 2012, Swim events for this year are more popular than ever.
