Visiting the Regatta

We are excited to see you on the riverbank this weekend for the long-awaited Wargrave & Shiplake Regatta on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th August.

The enclosure opens at 06.00 on Friday for the erection of gazebo’s with racing starting at 09,30 and with 317 races taking place over the two days its going to be busy!

Parking is available in the Regatta meadows at the bottom of Mill Road in Shiplake- RG9 3LY

A ferry runs from the George & Dragon in Wargrave from 08.00 on Friday morning and 05.45 on Saturday morning for those entering or watching the swim. 

In addition to a busy schedule of races, we have an exciting range of food and drinks outlets, a bouncy castle, an ice cream van and a shop selling Regatta merchandise.  Please do remember we are going cashless so don’t forget your credit card.

If you want to have a go and take part then the Scratch Dongola is for you.  Come to the Regatta Enclosure early on Saturday morning to put your name down and be entered into a crew.  Racing starts later in the day and no previous experience is necessary

And don’t forget the Regatta Fireworks take place on Saturday night at 10pm- we are in close discussion with the firework company about the safety of a firework display in light of the dry weather we are having and they will continue to assess the situation.
